Psychotherapy

Through psychotherapy, I help individuals and families understand the ways that negative thinking and behaviors as well as prior experiences may be contributing to difficulties in relationships or attainment of goals. I help with adaptive expression of emotions, development of insight into negative patterns of relating and teach cognitive-behavioral skills to help reduce anxiety/depression.

When attention and learning differences are primary, I work with individuals and families to implement and reinforce compensatory strategies.  I may meet primarily with the individual or may encourage family and/or parent consultation sessions.

I coordinate my treatment with school personnel and other professionals in order to help my clients generalize their gains to other areas of their lives and ensure comprehensive intervention.
